KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON (APPLE TV+)

Killers of The Flower Moon was the biggest and most important film that Apple TV had ever produced, but a dual writers and actors strike went into effect just as the film was being prepared for release. Without being able to tap writers and actors, we had to get creative with the PR and FYP campaign for the film.

We went all in on promoting a star who wasn’t limited by the strike: the director, Martin Scorsese. We successfully launched him Letterboxd, where he quickly became the most followed account on the whole platform, and we continued to engage across all social media platforms by posting factoids, clever tweets, and carefully curated BTS edits of Marty in action.

As the film gained traction and received numerous Oscar nominations, we kept the momentum going with edits that focused on the artistry of the film and history of the Osage people. When Lily Gladstone received criticism for being nominated for best actress despite having so few lines in the film, we created a wordless edit showing that she doesn’t need to have lines because all of her acting is done with her eyes.
